I have been sitting here for about fifteen minutes trying to think of how that title could fit in with the rest of this post, and I have come to the conclusion that well…not sure if it can. It is just that since last night, I can not get this R.E.M song out of my head.
So, the NBA Playoffs began yesterday. However, Chicago’s own Superman (Nice! See what I did there?) Derrick Rose, already had his playoffs cut short with a torn acl. How frustrating for not only him, but the Chicago Bulls Fans. The Bulls are now relegated to another wait until next year mantra, and it is just not fair. You never want to see a player get hurt, but especially the best player on one of the teams that had the chance to win a title. When something like this happens, you almost have to put an asterik next to the name of the team who ends up winning the championship. Anyways, injuries in sports are a part of the game, but that doesn’t make it any less painful.
So, is this the year that Lebron finally gets his ring? I sincerely hope not. However, with Rose out, there is one less team for the Heat to have to go thru. In the East, there really aren’t a whole lot of teams that can match up with Leloser and company. I believe that Boston’s own big three, could push the Heat to maybe six games, but really it should now be a cakewalk to the Finals for the Heat. The Knicks suck, The Magic suck, The 76ers suck and the Pacers have no go to guy. Welcome to the complete boredom of the NBA playoffs. Sorry, but that’s what the NBA (at least the East) has become now that Rose has gone down.
In the West, things are a lot spicier. The Lakers, Mavs, Thunder and Spurs all could come out and reach the Finals. Does Kobe Bryant have one more run in him with the Lakers? Can the Mavs pull off the unthinkable and get back to the Finals? I’m saying no. Spurs or Thunder v.s Heat Finals. And Lesuck will once again blow it in the Finals, and everyone who is not a heat fan, will breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Well those are my predictions and I am sticking to them. What do you think? Can anyone stop the Heat in the East now? Can the young Thunder roster make the next step to the Finals?
